Larry was introduced to the clinic by a friend, and starting coming in early 2013. Soon after, he was diagnosed with three different ailments – one of them being life threatening: stage three cancer.
“If I had not been introduced to the clinic and its staff, I cannot truly say that I would be here today,” Larry wrote in a three-page letter given to the volunteers. “Throughout the time that I’ve met the staff and volunteers, they’ve called me from time to time to check up on me … The clinic would not stand if it wasn’t for the great staff and volunteers. I’m proud to say that they have been and still are a blessing to me. They will go and they are willing to go the extra mile.”
Thanks to Hearts and Hands’ volunteers, Larry was quickly able to obtain the treatment necessary. He continues to be a joy to all who meet him, and is so very grateful to be alive.
